a. Letter
Dear Mr./Mss. President of Millennium Computers,
I am writing to you to inform you about inconveniences I have suffered from since the purchase of a laptop from your store. I bought the laptop from your chain store and paid additional $300 for the VIP warranty, which implied that my laptop should be repaired even in case of an accidental damage. Unfortunately, this was exactly what happened to my computer when I dropped a book on my laptop. After the accident, and e-keys do not work anymore. Naturally, I referred to you customer service but I did not get my laptop repaired because, in spite of my bill and the additional payment for the VIP warranty, you do not have this information in your database probably because your representatives failed to put this information into your database. In addition, you company mailed my warranty certificate to the wrong address.
In such a situation, I would like to receive the duplicate of the certificate and demand you to repair my laptop respectively to terms and conditions of the VIP warranty, which I have paid for,
Respectfully,
Jane.
b. Rewriting
Jane bought a laptop from the chain store of Millennium Computers. She paid an additional bill for $300 to obtain the VIP warranty. The VIP warranty provided Jane with an opportunity to get her laptop repaired in case of any troubles and damages, including accidental damages. However, her VIP warranty proved to be useless when her laptop was damaged and when she referred to the customer service. The problem was the professional negligence of Millennium Computers representatives, who failed to put the information about Jane’s purchase and VIP warranty into the store’s database.
