Buy an essay: Personal narrative

I wrote this essay in order to share my story with you, and share my thoughts and observations gained through personal experience and communication with many people. My story is about one important decision that changed not events of my life, but also my view to life and everything around me!
What does a person need for happier and more interesting and productive
life? Most of people and you will, without doubt, say that to be happy and to achieve good results a person might have one thing: the right set of mind. I mean that if a person wants to be happy, he will be, and he will achieve success. Yes, that is true, and those who advices you to strength your will, will be right, but they can you see that they are not so well on the way to
goal?
We all know from childhood that the mere desire to succeed and live more productively is often not enough. Of course, we feel the excitement when we are told: “All that all you need is to take a firm decision to change your life, and then you reach that aspires you.”
Unfortunately, the next day or a week, most of people forget about their good intentions and then returned to the old negative habits. Our firm commitment to start a new life from Monday or from the next day of the coming year often disappears with time. One solution to prosper and live a more productive, creative life is not enough, you also need to apply to this efforts and to go forward with confidence!
My story began with a casual acquaintance with a foreign student. Once in the cafe, I accidentally met with student from China, though to that day I have never talked to foreigners. After a short introductory talk about the cafe, we had a conversation, and a guy named Chou said the following phrase:
– In your country everything is so unusual. From the first sight it is like all the usual, but somehow not as in life…
I was very surprised by this phrase. What did he mean?
Chow said:
– You, Americans are very interesting people, because for Americans your country and culture – is the whole world.
At first I did not agree with his words, and said:
– What is it? I don’t understand you!
– Very simple. Your country – is a closed world, here’s all as you think. But do you know what a different world outside of your country looks like.
Of course, I said that I know. After all, I watch movies about other countries, I read in magazines, and once went on a weekend in Europe.
Of course, I said that I knew. After all, I watch movies about other countries, I read in magazines, and once I went on a weekend to Europe…
– Yes,- said Chou – but it’s still not real life. In movies you see the world through the eyes of Americans (actors and directors), in the magazines you read the opinions and views of Americans. And even in another country, you probably lived in a hotel with the same people like you, and did everything as usual: eat your usual food, spoke your own language…
– And what’s wrong with that?
– No, everything is fine, but it does mean that you have not seen the world and life outside your home. But the world is very interesting, it is unique and unusual, very diversified. In the world there is nothing similar, and each of its corners is unique!
– Here’ why you surprised at how we live in America?
– Yes, I was surprised, but for me it was another new discovery and the impression of the world.
After this conversation with Chou, I have changed a lot, as if I was replaced with someone else! I kept thinking about the words of Chou… linking about the other parts of the world, of another life that I do not know. And I came to the conclusion that in order to know something and have an opinion, I must see it myself, to understand what is the true and what is not, what is real and what is not. Because how can we talk about people from China or Japan, if most of us did not see them and do not know? How can we speak about people of Iraq good or bad, if we, too, were not there?
And then I firmly decided to see the world through my own eyes and experience!
The first thing I did was to visit China – yes, I went with a new friend Chow in an unfamiliar country. First of all is to say that I lived in the village of China, a small province: it was unusual, it was the view of life in China from the inside, not from the hotel window or a plane! Of course, I also visited big cities and the capital, to learn different aspects of culture and life of this country.
My more than two-week staying, in addition to vivid impressions, gave me food for thoughts. For example the Great Wall of China is the only thing made by man’s hands that is seen from space… Many impressions were left out of these recordings, unfortunately. Remembering this trip 2 years later, I realize that in addition to experience thrilling adventures (when it is not clear what would happen in an hour, what would you do), in general, China is simpressive by the power of cultural heritage.
Before each nation there is a question of self-determination – a position that people occupy in the global culture. This is a mutual concept of globalism and regionalism, but both in America and China many people want to understand it. China remains “a thing in itself” – not seeking to extend its influence and doing only internal problems, but even in such a situation, the spread of Chinese culture is booming. If China’s position in relation to the external world will change in the position to expand its influence, the world could turn into a Chinese? Although I am not a supporter of this view, in the airport I bought a textbook of Chinese language and traditional Chinese sweets.
And the most important was that I realized: life is varied and unpredictable, and making plans for the future we do not always know what can happen! I am now not sure I want all my life just to live and work, maybe I will want to travel all over the world?
And this my story shows how people, their life and thoughts can change in one conversation – before and after!
