The company needs a well-qualified professional with an extensive experience of work in a large company with highly-qualified employees. The position of the general manager implies the management and strategic development of the company and business activities. The strategic goal of the company, which the general director is supposed to achieve, is the maintenance and steady improvement of the position of the company in the market. At the moment, the general manager should be able to organize the work of over 500 employees and develop the production process effectively. The company pays a particular attention to the improvement of the efficiency of work of employees and to the increase of the productivity, which is crucial for the steady development and progress of the company in the market. Hence, the general manager should be able to organize, motivate and simulate employees to improve their work and to increase the productivity. The expected outcomes of the work of the general manager within the first and second year are the rise of the productivity by 5% at least. The general manager should be aware of the high responsibility for outcomes of his or her work and be able to manage employees effectively that means that the general manager should maintain the positive organizational culture and to keep employees motivated to work better. In response, the company provides the general manager with the $5,000 per month salary and annual bonus respectively to the productivity growth rate.
b. The Nelson Navigation Systems Company, the company that makes navigation systems for commercial aircrafts, looks for a project manager to work on the new project to develop the new line of navigation systems. The new manager should have an extensive experience of work in the field of navigation systems and management of organizations operating in this industry. At the same time, the manager should be flexible to be able to adapt to changes easily. The company is developing dynamically. Hence, the company needs a dynamic project manager, who is flexible and able to adapt changes because modern technologies and business environment are changing fast and the new project manager is supposed to be able to adapt the project development and implementation to the change in the business environment and technologies. At the same time, the project manager should be willing to get training and improve professional skills and abilities because he or she will need to keep progressing professionally to keep pace with new technologies and changes in the business environment. The company focuses on the development of a brand new navigation system. Therefore, the manager should have well-developed analytical thinking skills to define prospective innovative ideas that can be implemented successfully in the new project. In addition, the manager should be able to collaborate with colleagues and organize the work of employees effectively through the creation of a democratic atmosphere within the company. Moreover, the project manager should be able to acquire new knowledge and to develop new skills and abilities in the course of the training and share his or her knowledge with other managers and employees of the company. The company, in its turn, provides the manager with an attractive compensation plan and the salary, which comprises $4,000 per month.
