My personal experience of driving an electric power car was great. That is why I can judge that it is very difficult to tell an electric power can from a gasoline power vehicle. From outside a person will probably never be able to differentiate between two types of cars. It is due in part to the fact that most electric cars are made by converting a gasoline power car, therefore in this case the differences are almost imperceptible. But when you become a driver of an electric power car you start feeling that something is not right. You suspect something unusual and you are right: it is not a gasoline power vehicle. One of the most noticeable things that make you feel the difference is that electric power cars work almost silently. But then you look under the hood of your car and understand everything: the car has an electric motor instead of a gasoline one; the motor gets power from a controller and the controller in its turn gets power from rechargeable batteries.

I am totally convinced that the introduction of electric power cars into our life will cause positive effects upon various spheres of our life, especially upon our health. The unhealthy levels of ozone layer in the USA and in many other countries of the world make governments and officials study various alternatives to reduce the high levels of air pollution from gasoline power cars (Gribben). Some of the alternatives are the ultra-low emission vehicles (ULEVs) and zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs). The current energy mix in the USA would result in a 30% reduction of the emissions of carbon dioxide on the condition that electric power cars are used (Richard). Taking into consideration the energy mixes in other countries of the world, scientists have estimated that carbon dioxide emissions will decrease by 40% in the UK (“Reduced CO2”), by 19% in China (Gao, Wang), and by 1% in Germany (Going electric).

Of course, everybody decides for himself. I strongly believe that electric power cars will become our present very soon. My personal opinion is that it is not very pleasant to spend much money on gasoline every day, spoiling the atmosphere and people by toxic emissions of my car. I’d rather prefer to spare my money and also to save both my health and the health of people who surround me. If every member of our society was that ecologically friendly as the owners of electric power cars, probably we would have a chance to preserve our nature instead of damaging and polluting it.
