Adolescence is period of human life from approximately 14 to 20 years old among boys and from 12 to 18 years old among girls. From the psychological point of view it is marked by the appearance of sexual instinct and the rapid development of feelings – both moral and religious. Exactly 15-16 years old adolescents face the age of mystical crises and conflict within the family. The system of general education extends the adolescent period and promotes the transition to adult life, stable and balanced. Adolescence ends with an awareness of social responsibility.
The adolescent feels caught in a new and unknown to him force, which operates in its own depths. Dreams are the clue for the adolescents in this period. Only with this period begins this identity, taste and attraction to their inner world, their desires and impulses, without any regard to how they are realizable. The stubborn refusal to face the reality, confidence in the right to live your world and give all the intentions and desires of the nature of dreams are active in adolescent period. During this period, for an adolescent it is typical to feel great taste to be asocial – in solitude and loneliness, to the tragic sense of obscurity and irrelevance to anyone at all to the isolation from everything and everyone.
The diversity of interests in adolescent period is surprising: they can be cognitive, social, labor, sports, aesthetic, readers and even material, for example: an adolescent wanted to save money to buy the right thing for her, as she follows fashion and is always updated by new gadgets and modern things. The current adolescent is a girl and she has plenty of hobbies and interests, which is a big plus. Also the adolescent has an active interest in the sport: she is happy to attend training, preparing for competitions and participate in them. She has been going for different sports, such as gymnastics, aerobics, jogging, and now she is fond of tennis.
Due to the rapid growth and restructuring of the body in adolescence sharply increased interest in their appearance. Disproportion of body parts, awkward movements, the irregularity of the facial features, skin, losing the purity of children, obesity or leanness – all upsets, and sometimes leads to feelings of inferiority, isolation, even neurosis. Severe emotional reactions to their appearance in adolescents softened with warm, trusting relationships with older relatives, who must, of course demonstrate understanding and tact. Conversely, indiscreet remark, cry or irony, detached the child from the mirror, and further exacerbate the pessimism is very nervous.
At the same time, the interests of the children are found in the inner world of people, their behavior, morality, and public life. The positive opinion is stimulating, as a rule, the activity of adolescents, promoting the formation of cognitive and labor interests. Major impact on the formation and development interests in adolescents have a mental image of their parents and teachers, their depth knowledge, ability to lucidly express their thoughts, the ability to captivate with stories. Interests can be stable or unstable. Stability of interests is often associated with advanced skills, the knowledge of his calling and duty.
Economic circumstances among the adolescents are different, as some of them start to work; others ask their parents for pocket money. Nowadays with the big interest in shopping and among the enormous choice of the goods adolescents have dreams and ideas what to buy, and it is important to explain them how to earn money and especially how to study. They definitely should be motivated to study at schools and then at the University.
For now, the person has not completed the phase, as there are many factors that play the role in her life nowadays. The friends and school problems are the factors that make the adolescent complete and the phase will be completed when she finishes school and finds the way to move forward- a choice of profession and the main goals in life in the current period.
Despite the fact that this period of development is characterized as a crisis, the crisis itself may proceed differently. The nature and content of crisis occurs due to the severity of the contradictions that define the social situation of the adolescent. If they are mitigated through preventive actions of teachers, parents and other adults, teens and parents themselves may not see any crisis.
