Nowadays this problem is not of course the problem number one in our society, but looking around we see that many people suffer from obesity and continue to eat more then they need and of course they use not very healthy food.
Defining the problem of obesity, we see that exactly obesity – is a serious problem in the modern world. Unfortunately, teenagers are prone to obesity is not less as adults, and they suffer because of this more, because as a teenager people are very vulnerable and sensitive. For adolescents with obesity is often connected low self-esteem and many other psychological problems, they usually experience due to excess weight are much stronger than the adults. They usually have bad physical health, because obesity can cause sleep disorders, liver disease and cardio – vascular system, diabetes.
The causes of obesity in adolescents can be set in big amount. We can find among reasons some diseases, taking for their development certain medications, and genetic predisposition. However, the most common reason – it is overeating. Obesity is most often arises when the number of incoming dietary calories exceeds the amount spent. Teens usually overeat because of the love of fast food: chips, lemonade, French fries. In my opinion a common cause of overeating is a habit, formed as a family tradition – if the parents in the family eat a lot, and eat fat, very high-calorie food, the children usually take over their dietary habits. Moreover, finally, an important cause of overeating – depression, poor emotional state. Teenager “seizes” their psychological problems, fullness of that his psychological problems are compounded, and eats it again, to drown out the experience – there is a “vicious circle”. In addition, the modern teenagers are moving very little, mostly sitting in front of a TV or computer, why expend the calories they simply nowhere.
In obese adolescents must be fought, we cannot hope that a teenager “outgrow” obesity. Yes, often during puberty, teenagers loose their fat, but it usually happens, if completeness is not very significant, only a few pounds more than the norm. Obesity, however, usually does not pass, and teen takes it with him into adulthood, along with a bunch of systems and diseases.
What steps need to be taken to combat obesity in adolescents? First of all, it is necessary to see a doctor, that he found out how serious is the problem. For this purpose, it was designed by a special formula of body mass index of adolescents, taking into account the peculiarities of its constitution and growth. If it appears that body weight exceeds the standard seriously, will be assigned a survey to find out whether obesity is not associated with any disease. Saying about idealistic solution of this problem, I propose to close fast foods establishments, because they “help” our people to be fat and they destroy our nation in such a way. Let us think about the amount of calories that try to achieve our organism when we are eating, for example, hot-dog and then looking into the morrow we understand that calories achieve their aim and that’s why our body is not beautiful but looks like the piece of pie, fat and bagging for physical exercises.
Thus, taking into account all above discussed we should say for the conclusion that obesity is a problem and possibility to close all fast foods establishments can help people to solve the part of problems with their overeating. In addition, it is important that the family will help a teenager in the fight against obesity. It is necessary, first of all, for this aim to monitor food, cooking, saturated useful substances, but not calories. Parents should explain to the adolescent that eating in fast food establishments is bad. If to buy the healthiest food in the school is not possible, parents should give home-cooked meal to their child to eat in school. Fresh fruit is also suitable: for example, banana, though calories, but still more useful than a roll, and besides – as well quenches hunger. If the adolescent will eat in the morning and having normal breakfast at home, then during the day the feeling of hungry will not be so strong and it allow him to avoid a wish to buy a harmful food and destroy own health and beauty.
