The movie under consideration is the 4th volume of the well known Rambo movie. In this part Vietnam veteran John Rambo retired and lives in solitude in Bangkok, earning a living by sorting out the old boats and tanks for scrap metal. But once a group of missionaries asked him to help them and be their guide. For over fifty years it had been war in Burma, and local citizens exhausted by war desperately needed help. Rambo helped the missionaries to get to Burma, but some time after the arrival they were captured by the Burmese soldiers. Rescue mission is entrusted to John Rambo. With five well-trained mercenaries Rambo must return to Burma and release the hostages. During the movie our hero manages his mission, overcoming all the obstacles.
As for me I’m not really excited and effected by the movie. If we discard the emotions, it becomes clear that the film is rather “weak” – less emotions and story, more cruel fight and actions.
The first part of the movie is just boring – no drama, no emotion, no thoughts. Dialogue with the girl, after which Rambo decided to carry the missionaries by the river, takes 2-3 minutes and is replete with illogical conclusions and empty, but loud phrases. To my mind, attempt to make the drama failed.

The chase through the jungle is dynamic and sometimes even beautiful, but the explosion of aviation bombs are drawn not very well, which also spoils the overall impression.
And, finally, the main disappointment is the final battle. I expected to see beautiful and exquisite Rambo fight with a vicious and treacherous enemy. However, I saw a dream of a modern gamer – a man with a large gun was shooting everybody around. Needless to say, he shoots effectively – with tearing in half, tearing off limbs, beautiful falls and bloody scraps.
My conclusion: the movie is beautiful, but completely mindless. Comparing to the first Rambo, with its drama, action, plot and idea the fourth one loses on all fronts.
