I would like to discuss human life span in this paper. It is necessary to define the notion life span and then attentively look at its main characteristics and periods of its development. It is possible to dissociate the pathological processes of development from natural process of development, if to trace a progress of living structures development and to take into account that a Human is also the part of such structure. We will consider the Human life span from these positions in the body of this paper.
First of all it is necessary to define the term life span, because the term definition is a first step in any concept understanding and analyzing. Life span is also a synonym to the world lifetime, and according to Santrock (2007) “life span it is the average or maximum length of time an organism, material, or object can be expected to survive or last.” Defining this term in general sense we should say that the life span is a sequence of age-dependent phases of individual development of people from birth to death. There can be identifying three large periods in the human life span. Among them we can find: 1) creation of organism; 2) development to maturity; and 3) senescence.
The first period is begun with the impregnation of ovule and ends with birth. A leading role in process control belongs to the mother: under influence of external environment which it is in, the proper internal environment where a fetation is in is formed. Parameters of internal environment and external influences during pregnancy are the active factors of development of child, and a process flows automatically and, if there are not damaging factors, a result is well enough predictable.
During the second period – from birth to maturity – there is stage-by-stage creation of human capabilities by mastering of the human behavioral programs through a permanent contact with the different levels of society. A keyword is evolutional development: increase of capabilities, possibilities, force, and expansion of space. Essentially maintenance of period is teaching of CNS, which for period of development to the mature individual once or twice on principle changes the algorithm of work and, accordingly, structure and biochemistry. The result of development on the second stage fully depends on the environment of dwelling of organism and absolutely doesn’t predictable.
On the third period – from maturity to death – there are on principle other vital processes. Essence of it is in a revision and reconsideration of the spent life and in the change of area of processes adaptation from within outside that is expressed in crossing from the change of the structure under an environment to the purposeful change of environment of dwelling under itself. Forces fall in course of time, possibilities diminish, space narrows. As a result all in a greater degree the process of development is acquired by character of involution and ends with death.
We know that individual development of man, as well as every other organism is ontogenesis with the phylogenesis program put up in the person; this process depends on the varied sociocultural factors which are fixed by the categories of life span and life way.
