Illegal immigration is a violation of the law that results in negative consequences connected with the change in overall life conditions of the US citizens. On the other hand, strong facts prove illegal immigration to have more positive influence on the economy of the country than the negative one. Illegal immigration has proved to be fundamental and important in the general development of the country, forcing the US economy development in the labor supply and for continuing its steps in providing new working places. Moreover, immigrants are not only employees, but those who consume and necessitate goods and maintenance that increase employment. So, whom should we stop from entering our borders, and whom should we let through? Illegal immigration remains а debatable and disputable issue all over the world, as well as in the United States.
Though some experts claim that illegal immigration is negative phenomenon because of a few cases that resulted in the violation, cruelty and unfavorable behavior in relation to citizens of the US, it is more vividly proved the positive influence which is much more notable, such as the economical development and flourishing including the growth of the production, savings, labor supply.
Speaking about the pros of immigration, under the influence of illegal immigrants on the economy of the US flourishes. Considering the fact that there is lack of unqualified, untrained workers in many sections of the US economy, plenty of vacancies requiring minimum qualification are being taken by illegal alien employees. Without these people, work rate production as well as financial development of the economical conditions would not progress gradually in stages and there would not be so many vacancies for qualified workers. And, by taking these unqualified working places, illegal immigrants conduce promising and well-off development of the US economy. Doubtlessly, the economy of the US gets an advantage from illegal immigrants, and alien workers do not challenge but counterpart job vacancies.
Naturally, American employees as any workers want to succeed and increase their standard of lives, thus they change lower-paid jobs into well-paid jobs, and immigrants in this change take the jobs that are less prestigious, such as hand-operated and physical labor that American workers are unenthusiastic to take.
Concerning costs problem, immigrants are considered not to pay taxes which is definitely harmful to the economy of the country. But lots of immigrants do pay the taxes as they are willing to donate to the area of their inhabiting. They understand that by paying taxes they improve the life of their own children and cater to a flourishing vigorous society. Thus, tax foundation states that “it is true that many undocumented immigrants pay payroll taxes (i.e. FICA and Medicare) using either an invalid Social Security number or a Tax Identification Number (TIN), some of these same individuals also pay income taxes…. to show they want to comply with US laws” (Gerald Prante).
Illegal immigrants influence the economy of the US in the way of decreasing the prices different kind of goods. In a current research project “Benefits of Illegal Immigration Offset Costs on the U.S. Economy” by Bruce Vang it is showed that the researcher in the immigrant problem Cortes analyzed this influence in 25 considerable US big cities regions. Cortes established the following data “a 10% increase in immigration lowered the price of low-skilled intensive goods and services by 1%” (Bruce Vang). The other research work published by the National Research Council states that in the 1990s, American citizens obtained from $1 to $10 billion annually from the illegal immigrants work effects only (Lewis). Certainly, these two current research works illustrate that the US economy is thriving partly being a consequence of the donation of illegal aliens.
