Among the many challenges that organizations face nowadays, organizational change is really serious. In my opinion the process of organizations change should be studied thoroughly.
I suggest researching the following aspects of the process of change:
• challenges organization faces with;
• a choice of the style of change’s implementation;
• a resistance to change;
• stages of organizational change;
• other necessary information about management in the process of change.
The paper should start with the definition of the change and the nature of it. Why is it important? Some authors claim that the basic skill of any successful manager should be an understanding of the nature of change. Besides it, the manager should take a proactive role in the organization before, during and after the change. (Gambrell and Stevens, 1992)
The major reason why the change is important is that in order to be successful in the modern business world organization should focus on constant improvement and on inevitable changing process.
Other important elements of the change are the style of change’s implementation and also the resistance to the changes.
Then the paper should describe the stages of managing organizational change that usually include the following steps:
• “Identifying the destabilizing forces
• Determining your alignment in the market
• Electing the appropriate methods to use
• Creating the most effective change strategy,
• Applying these elements in the most accurate way” (Kudray and Kleiner1997)
The literature that may be used for this paper includes the articles in professional journals dedicated to the subject of organizational change, such as:
• Gambrell, S. and Stevens, C.A. (1992) “Moving through the Three Phases of Organizational Change”, article in “Industrial Management”;
• Kudray, L. (1997) “Global Trends in Managing Change”, article in “Industrial Management”;
• Manz, C. and Bastien D. (1991) “Executive Leadership during Organizational Change: A Bi-Cycle Model”, article in “Human Resource Planning.”
