The work is devoted to the problem of importance of inclusive schools in modern society. It is necessary to consider it’s importance, it’s value and show what criteria settings of inclusive education can be provided in schools.
Inclusive education describes the process of teaching children with special needs in general schools. In the framework of inclusive education is put ideology which excludes any discrimination against children, which ensures equal treatment of all people, but creates special conditions for children with special educational needs. Experience shows that from any rigid educational system, some of the children are eliminated because the system is not ready to meet the individual needs of these children in learning. This ratio is 15% of the total number of children in schools and, thus, eliminated children become isolated and excluded from the overall system. It must be said that inclusive approaches can support these children in learning and achieving success that will give chances and opportunities for a better life.
Inclusive education is a process of general education, which includes access to education for all, in terms of adapting to the different needs of all children that provides access to education for children with special needs. It means that this is a barrier-free education.
Let’s look at some of the aspects, settings and problems of inclusive education for disabled children, with emphasis on features of their general education, as well as the importance of certain criteria in the practice of inclusive education.
So, the most important is that inclusive education seeks to develop a methodology aimed at children and recognizes that all children are individuals with different training needs. Inclusive education seeks to develop an approach to teaching and learning, which will be more flexible to meet different learning needs. If teaching and learning will become more effective as a result of changes that implements Inclusive Education, then the benefit to all children (not only children with special needs)!
So, there are specific principles that are considered important for inclusive education:
1. Inclusive school is considering a new positive social reality of the diversity of students belonging to different ethnic groups and cultures, having different economic and social status, different abilities, interests and learning goals.
2. Inclusive school provides every student equal access to knowledge, skills and information.
3. Inclusive school develops individualized learning process.
4. Inclusive school requires full cooperation between the team – school teachers, all children their parents and also school psychologists.
5. Inclusive school works in partnership with families, community and government organizations.
6. Inclusive school expects progress in learning from each of his student, that also means flexibility in approaches to learning.
7. Inclusive School promotes social development of society, supporting the philosophy of making every child important for society – this is its most important social value.
So, according to these principles the main task of inclusive school is to build a system that meets the needs of everyone. In inclusive schools all children provide support that for children with disabilities, that enables them to achieve success and feel the security value of the co-host a team. But the modern society is not always ready for this help.
The purpose of such a school is to give all students the opportunity to more healthy social life, the most active participation in the collective, the community, thereby ensuring the fullest cooperation and assistance to each other as members of the community. This value imperative clearly shows that all members of the school community and society are interconnected and that students not only interact with each other in the learning process, but also develop when taking joint decisions about the management processes in the classroom.
So, an inclusive approach in education and social life is important and necessary, especially for children with disabilities, but also for the whole society.
Though there are really important criteria of the inclusive education, that can be provided in each and any school.
