Buy an essay on English Literature and the ILPE Method

In the base of teaching we could find method of teaching and there are many different methods of teaching in pedagogics. A method (from Greek metodos) means the method of cognition, researches of the phenomena of nature and public life, reception, method or character of action; way of moving toward truth. We could give next determination to the teaching method: it is a method of well-organized activity of subject and object of educational process, directed at achievement of the formulated aims of teaching, development, and education. Already in these determinations method comes forward as the multidimensional phenomenon, as core of educational process. It comes forward the mechanism of realization of the formulated aims, in a great deal determines end-point of educational process. Thus, I would like to talk in this paper about strategies of the ILPE and how teachers go about teaching English and Literature to their students.
Today methods are the basis of all educational process in the teaching of English and Literature. Correctly formulated aims are achieved through the correctly chosen way, forms and facilities of gaining and correlated with this way. The change of aims always entails and changes of teaching methods. In the methods of teaching it is possible to distinguish teaching (activity of a teacher) methods and methods of studies (activity of student on knowledge mastering). According to Gabler and Schroeder (2003) the ILPE (Investigating Learners Previous Experience) method we could define in the next way: “the ILPE method is a specific method by which the teacher develops a better understanding of where the students stand within a particular subject or topic. Teachers can also use the ILPE method to motivate students.” Thus, we understand that this method is used by teachers to gauge students’ background and base knowledge of a particular subject and use techniques such as group activities, questionnaires, and reflective writing assignments to get to know their students previous experience in this area. Thinking about ILPE method it is necessary to mention that it consists of two main principles that influence on the strategies of the ILPE teaching. Both principles positively influence on students activity and motivates them to develop own knowledge not only in the frames of chosen subject, but also it increase mind activity and influence on all other subjects of educational process. Cognitivist and Constructivism principles concern students with skills of critical thinking and they also involve elements of high-level thinking such as analysis, synthesis and evaluation. For the best understanding of the essence of the ILPE method use Gabler and Schroeder (2003) order ILPE lessons into several categories: Prelude, Enactment, Assessment and Evaluation Plan. Each category is necessary and, in my opinion, it is the next step to the best teaching practices implementation.
Taking into account above presented information it is possible to say that ordinary strategies of teaching could effectively work with the ILPE method of teaching, because teachers should analyze their students’ knowledge and after that not only give new information in English and Literature, but also help their students to fill up the gap in previous material. Thus, it is possible to conclude that the ILPE method is a possibility to save on time and efforts working with groups of students and increase the level of material preparing basing on received results. In such a way it is necessary to emphasize that didactics allows to use ordinary methods of teaching in combination with the ILPE method and it will be also reflection of didactics conformity law: high and durable educational results will be attained in the process of teaching in short time only with correct previous knowledge evaluating and use of wide circle of aspects that influence on the teacher choice of teaching methods.
