Question 1. Values appear in our personal and professional lives. They provide value patterns and sometimes mobilization for action. What are the functions of these values? How do you apply this thinking to personal and professional values to obligatory actions? How do these values translate to goals of agencies and their provision of services?
Traditionally, people have their own set of values which may be similar in terms of one culture or social group. At the same time, it is possible to distinguish personal and professional values which may coincide to a certain extent. For instance, some people are success-oriented which influences not only their personal but also professional life. Their orientation on successes influences their professional work and defines both their professional and personal goals because they attempt to achieve success and maximize the effectiveness of their performance. At the same time, people have some universal values, which influence their personal and professional life and set goals for their life.

Question 2. Professional values and client values may be similar and could be different. Develop a scenario where the professional value may differ from the client’s values. Professional values affect consistently the relationship between clients and professionals. At the same time, they do not always coincide. For instance, a client from a different cultural background can have a different set of values compared to a professional social worker. As a result, a social worker can learn and respect cultural norms and traditions of a client. Otherwise, communication gaps and conflicts can emerge.
