Women may have mental problems because of divorce, which include severe depression and drop of self-esteem. In this regard, it is important to place emphasis on the fact that women feel being abandoned that may provoke the development of psychological problems and fear of being lonely. In actuality, divorce is a serious psychological trauma for women because they fail to find their place in the family life. The traditional family values they stick to are ruined and they need to develop a new system of values to replace the ruined family. In addition, women suffer from the increased level of anxiety because they attempt to create the new family but the failure in their family life can lead to the development of biases and psychological problems that undermine self-confidence and self-esteem of women after the divorce.

At the physical level, women may suffer from similar problems as men do. To put it more precisely, women often tend to overeat after the divorce. As they feel being abandoned they start eating more to cope with their fear of loneliness and feeling of being abandoned. The increase of weight, low physical activities are a few problems to mention, which women may have after the divorce. In addition, the pressure on women increases because often they need to work more to raise up their children and afford living without their husbands. Anyway, women suffer from the lack of their husband support at home and they often become the only breadwinners in the family that may lead to physical exhaustion of women after the divorce.
c. Emotionally
Finally, at the emotional level, women may have increased anxiety level and the low self-esteem. They have negative emotions that influence consistently their mood. The emergence of negative emotions overwhelms them because women suffer from loneliness. In addition, women feel being abandoned. In such a situation, they often need to feel support and care of someone, who can help them to cope with their problems and with their loneliness. As the matter of fact, loneliness is one of the major problems that lead to the emergence of negative emotions in divorced women. As a result, they can suffer from depression and consistent deterioration of their psychological state. At the same time, women are inclined to the open manifestation of their feelings and emotions. As a result, often women are crying and feeling regret after the divorce. On the other hand, they can recover emotionally faster after the divorce compared to men due to the open manifestation of their sufferings, feelings and emotions that aggravate their psychological state and cause serious psychological problems.
