Buy essay on America’s Broken Politics

Today those who observe the political situation in the USA hardly can define it clearly. There is no doubt that the country is paralyzed and cannot solve its domestic problems. The perspectives of this crisis are not optimistic while the problems facing the government are quite serious and apply to all spheres of life.
According to the statistics, American society is divided into two camps, which are opposed, and this opposition does not benefit the country. The polarization of the society concerns different ethnic groups, religious communities, strata of society and what is more significant the government policy becomes a struggle of different parties that ultimately leads to nothing. Besides the politics itself is rotten inside. Certainly, many countries, including highly developed ones, blame the politicians to be corrupted and concerned about profit, nevertheless, America leads all the records.
Nowadays the procedure of opposing a legislative proposal is done by means of “filibuster”, when the proposal should have from 60 to 100 votes in order to be accepted. This procedure proved to be very effective while rejecting proposals concerning controversial issues.
Another quite significant problem is corruption in politics. Big and powerful corporations are of primary importance in the policymaking process. Their lobbying does not bring any good to the public and instead is a form of legal corruption. Big money can solve all problems with votes and political decisions. Thus, government policy exclude the interests of the public and defends the interests of large and rich companies and the politicians they lobby.
Another complicated problem is America’s budget. Since American society is strongly against the increase of taxes, the government of the country does not manage to finance sufficiently basic public services and such spheres of life as healthcare and education. This leads to constant budget deficit and government debt. International observers consider it reasonable to raise taxes, but Obama’s promise not to do it leads the country to a deadlock. Thus, the President’s pledge together with the people’s stand make it impossible to solve the problem. Unlike European government that has introduced value-added tax and benefits from it, the US government cannot use it, though need to, again because of the President’s election campaign.
It is obvious that there are many critical areas in the economy of the USA, which need close attention and reasonable and rapid solutions because the situation aggravates with time. Today the society needs to understand the necessity of reforms and the inevitability of breach of certain promises for the sake of their future. Among the most serious factors of the crisis are the struggle between the Democrats and the Republicans, entailing the paralysis of the government, the budget deficit due to low taxes, the tension in the society caused by military occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan. Unfortunately, the government fails to find common language not only with the public but with each other as well. It should realize that it is necessary to become more flexible and to be ready to change the direction in case of need. America’s situation today is quite hard and it is impossible to confine itself to some slight changes. Reconsideration of the entire policy of the country can be useful.
