I’d like to talk about William Wordsworth in this paper, and analyze his poem “We are seven”. In my opinion, first of all it is necessary to discuss poetic path of an author, because his literary way formed his attitude to all spheres of life and, of course, the way how Wordsworth understands children and how they percept life around them. The main aim of our discussion is to find an answer on the simple question: How is the child or children presented in Wordsworth’s “We are seven”? Ex facte, poem “We are seven” is a little poem without serious actions and surrounding reality description that is consists of conversation between little girl and adult man, but it has very interesting plot and deep sense. I think that we will give careful consideration to a problem that is described in all above stated moments through the body of this paper and we will do it in details.
Let’s start this paragraph from the author’s biography description or maybe not, it will be unimportant information in our case to talk about Wordsworth’s biography; I think it will be better to say about his literary way, because exactly the main components of it made him popular and his works of literature interesting to readers until nowadays. William Wordsworth is a poet of Nature and Man.

He strongly believed that his poetic assignment – to show nature as not refuge of man from sufferings and obligations, but as a source of the «cleanest passion and merriment», permanent inspiration and support, granting, if only a man is able truly to see and hear, eternal and universal values of the soul and heart that are expressed in love, gladness, firmness and compassion. This faith leaved roots in children and youth’s experiencing of Wordsworth, which defined his development as poet. The extraordinarily intensified sight and hearing gave a young man so deep pleasure of beauty and inscrutability of nature perception that quite often he submerged in a trance or in the state of delight, awe of it and even trembling.
The poem “We are seven was written many years ago and it like all other poems has own history of its writing. According to Ruzicka we can it briefly describe in the next way: “William Wordsworth wrote We Are Seven on a walk from Alfoxden to Lenton, one late spring afternoon in 1798. He was accompanied by his sister Dorothy and his good friend Samuel Taylor Coleridge; on his pilgrimage he also composed part of The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, as well as other poems in Lyrical Ballads. We Are Seven was inspired by a little girl he met in the area of Goodrich Castle.”(Ruzicka, 2005) In continuation of above stated we should add that the idea to write such poem was born during this walk and greatly influence on Wordsworth, because it reflected child’s sincerity, mind perspicacity and also really true love for own family and unwillingness to let them go from her life. Ruzicka noted that “Wordsworth had originally written the last line of this stanza first. As he describes, in his journey at the grove of Alfoxden, he worked his way backwards to the beginning of the poem. When the poem was almost finished, he asked Coleridge to help him form an introductory stanza.” (Ruzicka, 2005) Author needed help to form his poem in right structure to make it more powerful and full of great poetic sense.
