Buy essay on The Disadvantages of Electric Car

Probably the ore problem that prevents high development of the electric cars and replacing of the cars with the electric engines are accumulators. For the last hundred century of the constant evolutionary process accumulators of electric cars did not reach technical characteristics that would help them equally to compete with the cars with explosive engine on the cost and fuel distance endurance, despite the significant improvement of the construction. The present day highly power-hungry accumulators are either too expensive because of the use of precious or valuable metals (silver, lithium) or working only under the high temperatures (the working temperature of sodium sulfuric accumulator is more than 300 degrees on Celsius). And it should be noted that these accumulators could be characterized with the high standing loss of a cell. One of the most perspective developments in this sphere have already become development of the nickel – metalhybrid accumulators, with the optimal correlation between energy intensity and the expenses spend of the creation of such accumulator. One of the perspective solutions of the contemporary days are considered accumulators having polypropylene, but dues the patent limitations the electric cars are mainly using lead – acidic accumulators. It should be noted that during the 20th century the energy intensity of such accumulators has grown in 4 times and they need not service during the whole life period.
Another problem dealing with accumulators is that they are working well, when the electric car is driven on the constant speed and rapid acceleration, with the sharp start the accumulators loose lots of energy. The problem is also manufacturing and utilization of accumulators, which often contain poisonous components (such as lead, lithium and different acids). This also does not add positive to the environmental question and now the utilization question is among the most discussed.
If we view the technical characteristics we should take into account that nearly 10% of the energy is lost in the speed gearbox and other elements of transmission. Japanese manufacturers such as Mitsubishi and Toyota have already developed wheel motor for the solution of this problem. Some investigators consider that the solution of this problem could be the rejection from the speed gearbox for the general and simple cylindrical transmission (as in locomotives). It would help to raise the efficiency factor up to 95%.
Partially the energy of accumulator is used of the cooling or heating the cabin of the care and also the charging of other aboard energy consumers (for example light or air compressor). The developers are trying to solve this problem with the help of fuel elements (such as ion stores and photo elements).
In the end I would like to make a stress on the fact that in contemporary realities, scrutinized ecological situation and the high price on the oil and gas (as the result the toughening of the environmental legislation ) the development of the electric cars has brighter perspectives than ever before. The final consumers are already testing the first examples, but there are a lot of things to be fixed. The ideas suggested by the developers should be tested and in nearest future the solutions would be found. It should be noted that for the last 20 years the electric cars development made a significant progress.
