Today, the development of the new emergent solutions and managerial paradigms change consistently traditional approaches to management and management styles. In this respect, it should be said that modern management is focused on the introduction of innovations and innovative approaches which can maximize the effectiveness of the organizational performance, through the high quality of services and management and focus on needs and wants of customers.
In this respect, it is possible to refer to the Japanese model which is growing more and more popular in the contemporary business environment. The Japanese model implies the focus on the total quality management and creation of effective team work, where each team works as a sort of family (Peters, 2002). At the same time, this model helps to overcome pitfalls of bureaucracy and capitalism, which often put positive interpersonal relations on the background, whereas profit and effectiveness are prior to normal interpersonal relations. No wonder many western managers and companies adopt the Japanese model.
At the same time, western management theory has its own innovative approaches to management. In this respect, it is possible to refer to the Mondragon promise which also implies the focus of managers on the high quality of products and services delivered to customers (Schein, 1999). On the other hand, Mondragon brings in certain innovations in the approach to customers. To put it more precisely, Mondragon promise stresses dedication, passion and innovation as key factors of the overall success of managers and positive organizational performance in the contemporary business environment.
Thus, the use of new approaches to management implies the focus on the quality and customer-centeredness that leads to positive organizational performance in the context of the contemporary business environment.
