“The Last Lecture” is a bestseller written by computer science professor Randy Pausch.
In my opinion, the major intention that author had is that he wanted us to think about the things that are really important in your life. Other common things don’t matter at all.
What are your real dreams and what kinds of tasks do you think you need to accomplish before your life comes to an end? These kinds of questions were the wisdom Mr. Paush wished to leave us as his legacy.
The name of the book is not accident. Mr. Pausch worked at Carnegie Mellon University and this institution has an interesting tradition of conducting the lections where the lecturers imagine that this lecture is their last lecture; their last opportunity to express important ideas and share their thoughts about life. Professors start to think what kind of wisdom they need to share with their students in the process of their last lecture.
Unfortunately, the lection that Randy Pausch has given in 2007 in his university was his last lecture for real. He has demonstrated an amazing example of sincere and courageous man and it’s not a surprise that the video of his last lecture has gained such an enormous success among the wide audience.
What I like about this book is a personality of its author; a hint of humour in the stories; the love to his family that author clearly states. Author makes all his readers to thinks about their lives and the wisdom that they need to impart to the world like it were the last chance to do it.
