Each of us believes that there is something or someone helping us in the difficult moment. It can be called God or Destiny, or even Fate. There are many thoughts and expressions about this topic, which should be argued and discussed. In this essay, I will try to answer question about evil and God, their reasons, according to standpoints of Thomas Aquinas, which he mentioned in his book called “God is Omnipotent”. Detailed overview can allow getting the main ideas, advantages and disadvantages of a big amount of thoughts, facts and arguments. In conclusion, the inference let us summarize and sum up all the information we are going to discuss. The essay consists from summarizing and analyzing the information and thoughts, given in Aquinas’s book. Our core focus will be on the determining main standpoints of such terms: faith, God, evil and others. So, let me start to explain main points of the theme.
Thomas Aquinas Religious Experiences
The first part of the essay is dedicated to God’s being. According to Thomas Aquinas, if God can make a being as great as himself, then a being as great as God is dependent on something outside itself. If a being as great as God is dependent on something outside itself, then a being as great as God is not as great as God is. Thus, if God can make a being as great as himself, then a being as great as God isn’t as great as God (18). Through the accurate thoughts and logical methods, he shows his rejection of the Absolute Account of the Omnipotence of God. It is obvious that nor does it conclude that God is able to do evil, for to do evil will result the God’s imperfection.
One can see the religion as another thing that the life unbelievers have. Moving onto the gypsies’ unbelief, I must admit that they, having no roots, no class and or hierarchy, are seen as a kind of a life force, freedom. They are believed to be very free, lacking the responsibility. Davies stated that everything that does not imply a contradiction in terms, is numbered amongst those possible things, in respect of which God is called omnipotent: whereas whatever implies contradiction does not come within the scope of divine omnipotence, because it cannot have the aspect of possibility (212). Therefore, it will be appropriately to mention that these things someone cannot do, than that God cannot do them at all. Talking about faith, should be noticed that the world has its beginning. One could think that there is something, what appeared previously then the God did, existed before Him. That is wrong point of view. Philosophers tried to prove that something, which exists would not exist unless. What is the God? How did he appear? These questions have only recently been raised, and it is not possible, as yet, to answer all of them with any certainty. Is it real that God caused something, which always exists? No, I am sure. Such thing cannot be created by God because of his regardless opportunity to do it.
On my opinion, God has an evil brother, who trying to push Him away from our minds. They both are living in our heart. The point is what brother we should set free. An evil one always suggests temptations to us, God teaches us to share and be hostility. In the addition, it becomes obvious that the God’s omnipotence does not take away from things their necessity and impossibility. It can be said that an evil side of our soul, which sleeps deep inside, can get up, but it depends only on human’s strength and faith. I think “good” and “bad” always struggles and fights with each other. Not always “good” wins. People often mistakes when relying on the only God’s forces. It is important to know what you want and to use your power. The Aquinas studies are complicated and hard in understanding of for people. Nevertheless, the information, which is understandable, is enough to make own opinion and standpoints. In general, I agree with Aquinas’s thoughts.
Conclusion
Detailed overview allowed getting the main ideas, advantages and disadvantages of a big amount of thoughts and arguments. The essay sheds light on the main principles and the definition of the faith, God and evil. In conclusion, the inference let us summarize and sum up all the information we are going to discuss. The work has not only authors thought, but also mine. Belief and God are most important parts of our life and soul. It makes us stronger and more confident in our own forces and powers. Each of us should think of what place does God occur in heart. It is known that God can forgive everything and show your path in life.
