Buy essay on Violence

I have chosen the site www.charlotteobserver.com, and among the news related to violence, there was one that simply shocked me; this article was called “Charlotte woman dies in domestic violence case”. LaSheira Hall, mother of 3 children, the eldest of which was 6 month only, was shot by her ex-boyfriend Gilliam early on Sunday morning. They had arguments in the evening; Gilliam was told to leave the house; he did so, but in 5 a.m. he returned, he beat her and then shot into LaSheira. The most awful thing is that her six-month daughter was in her hands when she was shot. Gilliam had an angry and jealous character, and had a criminal record. In addition to that, he already was convicted of assault on a female.

It is evident that Gilliam used coercion and threats, in terms of power and control wheel. Since they had arguments, as he threatened her and finally fulfilled the threat. He might also have used intimidation and made the woman afraid by different means (i.e. gestures, actions, destroying property etc.)
What could be done to prevent this terrible incident? In my opinion, the “honesty and accountability” part of the equality wheel should be most important (in the past) for the relations of LaSheira and Gilliam: he should admit past use of violence, admit being wrong and seek compromise. However, in my opinion, Gilliam should be more careful with this man – since he had previous problems with assault and criminal past, it was likely that he could repeat his mistakes. In case with Gilliam, almost the whole wheel of equality had to be practiced in order to lead to normal relations eventually. However, this requires a wish of two people – an, in my opinion, only LaSheira wanted to build a relationship and compromise.
