College students represent different ethnic groups, cultures and social standings. In this regard, it should be said that the student community is extremely diverse and basically students can be grouped into several classes depending on their attitude to learning. Nevertheless, these students are very successful in their learning and achieve considerable academic progress. As a rule, they carry on their education after college and often they focus on scientific career.
Another group of students consists of students learning and working. This group of students is probably the most numerous because many students cannot afford college education without earning money on their own or they are just not willing to depend on their parents and attempt to gain money while studying at college. In such a way, these students are willing to be free and independent and the college degree is important for them because it is one of the tools to prove or gain their independence from parents and circumstances. These students are not focused on their education solely. Instead, they have to work and, naturally, they enjoy having a good rest after learning and working. These students comprise the core of the college community. As a rule, they are socially active and they may take part in various college activities, if they have time.
Finally, the last group of college students consists of students stumbling through their college education. In fact, these students are often at risk of dropping out of college because of their poor academic performance. However, often these students are gifted in their way but they are just unwilling to study at college. For instance, some students enter college giving in to the pressure from the part of their parents, or they just realize that they have made an error as they entered the college. A considerable part of these students is just having fun while being at college. This means that they pay little, if any, attention to learning and they spend their time entertaining themselves. The entertainment is what attracts such students at college.
Thus, the college student community consists of three distinct groups which are quite different but which comprise an integral part of any college community. The three groups of students often live a different life while being at college but together they create the unique college community.
