The first group I decided to join was meant for everyone who has or who is going to have a sphynx cat (bold cats). I am one of such people so I thought it would be useful for me to communicate to those who already had a sphynx cat.
I started with posting several messages in the existing topics saying how much I like this breed and in a couple of minutes got the message from the moderator of the group. I was informed that I posted my messages in a wrong way. I found out that there were actually a lot of rules as for communicating via Yahoo Groups. I got to know that posting the first message one had to tell some information about himself/herself, his/her hobbies, interests, and purposes of joining the group. Then you may write what you want, but it is necessary that your posts include some facts, or distinct questions. These rules serve for convenience for group members to communicate: to provide and get that very information one needs or wants to learn.
After getting some basic instructions as for what kinds of questions I may ask and may reply, I started communicating with several sphynx breeders about the common habits and traits of character these amazing cats posses, the origin of the breed and some tips of maintenance. I was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of those people. They provided me with a great deal of information on the topics I mentioned.
I got to know that actually there was no cat breed called simply “sphynx”. Instead there are three variations of sphinxes: Canadian Sphynx, Don Sphynx and Peterbold. All these breeds differ not only in appearance but in personality as well. Though all the sphinxes differ, they are mostly very friendly and resemble rather dogs than cats. Also I got to know that Canadian sphynx breed comes from Canada, not from Egypt as I thought previously. As for maintenance these cats need a grooming once a week, consisting of trimming the nails of the cat and bathing.
In addition there are a lot of photos of sphinx cats in this group to view and comment on.

This group I found incredibly interesting. People share there their traveling experiences with one another and give advice to those who want to go to the same point of destination there.
Although I can’t call myself an advanced traveler, I have something to tell about several places; moreover I’d like to learn about many countries and cities.
The topic I started was “Tiki Culture in Hawaii”. I visited Honolulu some years ago and I am rather familiar with tiki culture. The tiki restaurant I visited there is Tiki Grill and Bar Waikiki Restaurant. It is very popular in Hawaii, though rather expensive. I told the members of the group how that restaurant looked like inside, what meals and cocktails I tasted there and what were the means for tiki entertainment and tiki shopping there. I mentioned such cocktails as Mai Tai and other drinks based on rum and served in fake coconuts, meals made of various sea products: calamari, oysters and shrimps. I also described how the girls were dancing hula in the skirts made of leaves. Surely I mentioned special tiki peculiarities: tiki statues, pleasant Hawaiian music and sounds of nature all over the restaurant.
Another topic I participated in was about some tips for visiting New York City on a budget. As a matter of fact I have always dreamt about visiting that gorgeous city, but the financial aspect always stopped me. Fortunately I found a necessary topic in the group. There I learned that an organized budget plan is the primary important thing I need. I found out how to arrange it correctly. Also I learnt that going to New York on weekday is more preferable for those who want to save money as prices in most restaurants and attractions are usually more expensive on the weekends. Another way to make a trip not so expensive is to choose cheap public transportation options. A Metrocard with enough rides may help much. Also it is of urgent need to purchase a brochure pointing the most interesting sights and the ways one can get there.

The next group I’d like to tell about is called Pilatesbody. The members of this group care about their health and physical condition. Their favorite kind of sport is pilates and they are eager to communicate on this topic.
Joining this group I wanted to learn more about popular pilates exercise system and its advantages over other aerobical exercises. I already knew that pilates had a lot of yoga elements in it, so I was interested to learn the differences between these two systems. I was also eager to get to know the main principles of pilates.
I communicated to some members of the group to get the needed information. Some of them were exercising according to pilates system of exercises for a very long period of time, others knew a lot on the subject just theoretically. I was glad to have both points of view to analyze.
The most striking thing I got to know is that pilates trains the core muscles which are very deep in our body. Although you feel no pain making exercises your body gains strengths. Another thing which is very important to my mind is safety. Pilates is thought to be an adaptable method, so all the exercises are developed with modifications, so a person at any level may practice them.
Following the opinions of some members of the group I may say that the main difference between yoga and pilates is that in yoga we get more relaxation and spiritual satisfaction, while pilates is aimed to train our body first of all.
To get to know the main principles of pilates I started the new topic. In a couple of days there were several replies in it. So, I learned that the most essential ingredients of pilates are: centering, control, flow, breath, precision, and concentration.

The groups I participated in are very informative and the members of them are very friendly. Everything I got to know there will be surely very useful for me.
