ASSESSMENT OF WEAKNESSES OF THE ORGANIZATION’S RECRUITING, SELECTING AND ONBOARDING PROCESSES
• As the human resource managers prefer to use internal recruitment, there is a problem to get new ideas of new specialists from the outside. Moreover, some divisions of the organization may suffer as the best specialists are taken to work to other positions.
• When using e-recruitment, screening and selecting processes create problems to the HR managers because there are too many candidates to choose for this or that position.
THREE MAJOR RECOMMENDATIONS
• It is necessary to give the preference to external recruiting because new specialists can bring new ideas and improve the organization’s output. Moreover, new employees have no history of their relations with the staff of the organization. It means they will have to gain respect of other specialists and to work better than the old specialists. (Yamamura et al, 2010, p.58)
• It is recommended to use psychological tests in selection process in order to find the best candidate for the job. Such tests will help to measure the main personality dimensions which include emotional stability of the candidate, his openness to experience and to knowledge, agreeableness and extroversion. This information helps the HR managers to evaluate the candidate and to identify his personality. Moreover, it gives opportunity to learn more about the candidate’s interests and abilities.(Kluemper & Rosen, 2009, p.3)
• It is necessary to put more requirements to the candidates for the job in the US Department of Health and Human Services because any position in this type of organization is worthy of respect.(JCSI, 2001, p.5)
• It is recommended to pay special attention to the institute leavers and to the new employees with language difficulties because sometimes it is very difficult for them to understand the major rules of the organization. It is very important to create special programs for them during onboarding process. Good onboarding process will help to create good impression about the organization and to increase productivity. Moreover, employee retention depends on the efficiency of onboarding process.(Arnold, 2010, p.4)
