I’d like to write a story that will give an example of original local color. Also I will describe that was given up exactly in eyes in Thailand and give some note of its culture and its habitants, country’s boundaries, not described in any literature, but that can be seen only by own eyes. The information can be useful for people who are interested to travel in different wonderful countries, because it makes us closer to the spirit of the country and to the spirit of the people who live in it. I want to retell one love story that took a place in the frame of below described local color and also explain why exactly this place so much influenced on its main characters.
Jack was a poet who one day decided to visit Thailand for his holiday. One day he bought a ticket to this country and went there for the whole week. When he was in airplane he saw one pretty girl Mary, who went there to visit her relatives, who lived there for twenty years. It was an ordinary young man and young girl who met each other in the airplane. For the first glance we can mention that there were a lot of people in the airplane, but exactly these two persons began to talk with each other about Thailand, wonderful and magic country where they were going to spend one week. Jack asked Mary would she visit Royal Garden Plaza and the girl answered that she is going to visit this place during this trip. Mary told: “Thailand is my love… Thus from the first journey. After the first my visit in this country I decided necessarily to visit it every year and meet New Year here… Collections were short, tickets were for sale freely… Country of magic original local color and adventures…” Jack was impressed by Mary’s words and asked her to become his guide through this country and tell something else about it. Mary did it with great pleasure, because it was the country of her ancestors and she knew its origin better than any guide. She was interested in this young man and wanted to make him fall in love with Thailand’s culture, nature, people, and original local color.
Jack asked to tell about this country in several words and Mary with happy smile began: “Thailand is the country of unique local color and variety, motherland of Siamese twins and blue-eyed Siamese lady-cats. Already magnetic force of Thailand attracts an ordinary people there, converting them from casual guests in regular visitors. What is a charm of this remarkable kingdom? From one side, it is a rich cultural legacy, art and architecture, from other side, are shining smiles of its habitants and their genuine affability, noisy street markets, fairy-tale old cities, modern fashionable hotels and high level of service; untouched civilization tribes, above-ground in jungles; shoreless shining ocean and shocking imagination nature. So, if you love adventures and feel like adventurer, but value a comfort, Thailand is Your country!” Jack’s heart began to beat faster because he heard amazing words from the young pretty lady who liked this country and who also liked adventures and wanted to spend her time in active way.
When young people leaved the plane they became friends and Mary invited Jack to visit her relatives and allowed him to rent one house near her home. She explained to his new friend that Thailand is the Buddhist state. An image of Buddha is sacred and any act of sacrilege threatens imprisonment, even if it is accomplished by foreigners. The population of Thailand behaves in high regard to the king, queen and royal family and does not allow foreigners to talk about them with a valid relation. Two people next day traveled to the historical places and during the visit of Buddhist temples it was necessary to observe the form of clothes (it is impossible to carry shorts, mini-skirts), touch to the monk, pass or take something from him. Native habitants of Thailand like their culture and their country very much; they respect their traditions and protect their way of life from foreigners.
The week passed as one day and young people spent it together sightseeing nature, people and look at each other. It was a wonderful place that show two people that they have similar point of views and magic air of Thailand made them a couple. It was necessary for them to visit the famous and interesting sights of Thailand and understand that they were brought there by destiny and they were looking for each other for a long time.
If to be honest, I have a plan to visit this country this year, because Thailand is one of the most developed states of region, wherever modern sky-scrapers and neon fires of advertising covered by itself a rich national culture, as a “country of free”. It is the country of Buddhist thought appearance, wonderful country of smiles, excellent national kitchen and surprisingly beautiful women. I think it is a fairy-tale kingdom, eternal summer and warm ocean. I want to feel myself desirable guest and that’s why I will go to Thailand, because it is amazing country with amazing original color, it is a country of my old child’s dream and who knows, maybe my true love is waiting for me exactly there.
Thus, as an epilogue I want to say that all events in this essay were described in strict succession, and these characteristics proved that it is a story, but not the sketch. My story has beginning, middle, and end. At the beginning of the story we see that two people decided to visit Thailand and bought tickets on the airplane, and then they met each other. In the middle of the story, we looked after their acquaintance and how they spent time together, sightseeing Thailand’s local color. At the end of the story we understand that Jack and Mary will be a good couple. The central question can be identified as how Thailand with its amazing culture helped two people to meet each other.
I want to mention that I wrote this story from my friends’ words. It is my description of real love story that had a place one day, but I didn’t see all events by own eyes. I’m not a participant of this story, but in this situation I’m in a role of narrator, who knows what happened and decided to tell this story to readers. Frankly speaking, in this story I feel myself as third person omniscient.
Saying about flashback, it is necessary to mention that exactly my flashback helps me to tell the story. It helps me to describe it with more details. Due to this flashback I could make the story about Thailand’s local color bright and memorable.
In this part of my epilogue I want to defend an idea that my story really is an example of local color. First of all actions took place in wonderful place where culture is really developed and it has own magic atmosphere. In my opinion, of course, actions could take place anywhere, but it is necessary to emphasize that it is a real story about my today’s two new friends were. With the pleasant smile I want to say that similar magic story of love could take a place in any another country but it will be another story about another people and another main characters. I strongly believe that magic Thailand has unique atmosphere of old traditions and respect to all people, nature, and religion and it is the best example of local color for my story.
