Custom essays on Pro-social behavior

I would like to talk about pro-social behavior in this paper. This notion appeared not so long ago, but exactly today people begin to research it from different sides. I think that for the better understanding of this topic it will be good to define this notion and write about its main characteristics and than use one situation as an example of pro-social behavior.
Under helping, altruistic, or pro-social behavior can be understood any actions directed on prosperity of other people. Actions these are very varied. Range of them extends from passing courtesy (like the transmission of salt-cellar) to the help a man, to appearing in a danger, getting in a difficult or disastrous situation, up to the rescue of his life by the price of own life. Accordingly the expenses of helping can be measured to the fellow person: attention, time, labour, money charges, moving aside on a background of the desires and plans, self-sacrifice.
Some psychologists consider that the special reason lies in the base of such behavior, and name this reason “altruism” (sometimes – by the reason of help, sometimes anxieties about people motives lies in its base). That is defined this important human reason of H. Mary, who named it one of the first among other researches in his works. This reason shows up in that, to offer sympathy and satisfy the necessities of helpless to the child or any other person, who is weak, become a cripple, got tired, inexperienced, feeble, humiliated, be single, outcast, sick, who sustained defeat or tests heartfelt confusion. The same reason comes forward in aspiration to feed, be guardian, support, console, protect, calm, take care, cure those, who needs. However nevertheless determined that in final analysis it goes to the benefit to other and on the face of it appears activity of help, can be quite different motive forces. On occasion there are doubts in that, as far as giving help follows above all things an anxiety about blessing of this help, i.e. as far as altruistic motives are moved by person.
Altruistic, or pro-social, behavior can be defined as such, which is carried out for the sake of blessing of other man and without a hope on a reward. Altruistic motivated behavior in a greater degree conduces to prosperity of other people, than to own prosperity that, who will realize it. With an altruistic behavioral acts of anxiety about other people and helping carried out them on own persuasion of man, without what that was not be pressure on the person from outside or own calculation.
