I have read the article with the title “Malware: what it is and how to prevent it” written by Adam Baratz in November, 2004, and I want to analyze it with more details. I’d like to write a summary of the reading and explain why the reading is important for its readers.
In my opinion the main idea of the article is to describe malware and its main components. Malware is the big threat for many computers, because it is situated on the one line with computer viruses and it can hijack users’ browser and damage data on the computer. Malware is a computer program designed specifically to damage or disrupts a system, such as a virus. According to information stated in the article we find a definition for malware and its main characteristics. The article also includes different types of malware description and we find author’s explanation how to struggle against harmful programs. It is well-known fact that people try to protect own computers from malware, but sometimes people don’t know how to do it in a right way. It was found different alternative methods of malware prevention and also the article depicts with pictures and details the process of malware work.
About wonderful possibilities of computers all are had heard a lot in our days. And computers already are widespread device all over the world. Certainly, it is desirable for all people to become acquainted with them closer. I think that such articles with full information about some computer aspect are important for people, because they allows to inform people and give them not only information, but also a choice how to use their computer and protect it in effective way. We understand from the article information that harmful software or malware is any program, written with the purpose of causing or use of resources of the attacked computer damage. Malware often hidden into the ordinary programs or it is disguised under them. In some cases it is circulated on other computers by e-mail or through the infected diskettes and CD disks. One of basic descriptions of modern viral attacks is high-rate of their distribution and frequency of appearance of new attacks.
Importance of such educated articles is obvious because it helps to understand main facts about malware and one more time remind people that malware, set on the computer of user, can intercept passwords and other personal information, diffuse a spam, attack other computers in a network. It is necessary to know that exactly during connecting to the internet malware able automatically to brush up and get commands from malefactors. Thus they manage an occupied computer unnoticed. User here usually and unaware, that his system is used by someone else. It is also necessary to mention that malware often interferes normal work with computer – the start of the harmful programs is loaded by central processing unit and slows work of other software. Network attacks from a computer slow the connection with the internet; increase the volume of traffic, and in concert and charges on the internet. Discovering attack from the computer of user, the provider of the internet can disconnect him from a network. Finally, a computer which accomplishes attacks regularly, and his proprietor, can cause interest even from the side of law enforcement authorities. In my judgment people should know all this information and be attentive with their computers use.
