In actuality, many organizations are concerned with the pursuit of profit but the business development does not always bring positive outcomes for communities where organizations operate. In such a situation, many organizations ignore interests of communities and the least protected categories of the population, such as children in need. Their interests are neglected and they stay being left aside of the normal social life to the extent that they are deprived of the possibility to obtain a good education and get a normal job. To help these people non-profitable organizations attempt to expand their operations in local communities as well as nationwide, while some organizations start their operations internationally, like the Big Brothers Big Sisters Agency, but they always stay concerned with interests of local communities and needs of the local population. In this respect, it is possible to refer to the experience of the Big Brothers Big Sisters agency (BBBSA), which operates internationally and provides mentoring services for children in need. The organization operates in the US as well as in seventeen countries of the world, where the BBBSA attempts to develop its operations to help children in need to complete their education and get a chance to find employment.
Mission, vision and overall strategy
In actuality, the vision of the BBBSA is the expansion of the network of the organization internationally and to become the organization assisting children in need to carry on their education and, in such a way, get better job opportunities in their adulthood. The mission of the BBBSA is the provision of children in need with mentoring services and attraction of the public attention to the problem of children in need and their education. The agency attempts to use the strategy of the provision of mentoring services to children in need using volunteer jobs and promoting its services and the idea of helping children in need.
Financial performance
At the same time, the BBBSA cannot function without the use of financial resources needed for the maintenance of facilities of the organization, its structure and personnel. In this regard, the financial performance of the organization is of the utmost importance. As the matter of fact, the organization is a non-profit organization and it does not aim at receiving profits and benefits from its operations. In stark contrast, the BBBSA needs financial resources to conduct its operations. This means that the organization relies heavily on donations and other financial resources, which the organization can use to implement its mission and vision and strategy.
Marketing
The marketing policy of the BBBSA is oriented on the attraction of sponsors and donators to the programs developed by the agency and operations conducted by the BBBSA internationally. In addition, the agency attempts to enroll a possibly larger number of children in programs and mentoring services provided by the BBBSA to children.
