Education has always been important for me. My parents moved to the US to provide me with an opportunity to obtain better education than I could obtain in Peru, where my family originated from. They believed in my ability to learn and to get a well-paid job, while I believed and still believe that education is a key to larger opportunities and people cannot succeed without a solid educational background today. This is why the graduate school is an essential step forward in my professional education as well as my personal development.
In fact, I believe that my major accomplishments are closely intertwined with my education. To put it more precisely, my Bachelor degree, which I obtained in March, 2010, is my major accomplishment. I can hardly compare it to anything else that has ever happened in my life. Probably, I could compare it to the birth of my daughter but this accomplishment refers to my personal life solely. In such a way, my major accomplishments are closely intertwined with my education because I believe that education is the most important thing for me now. At any rate, I attempt to succeed in my education because education lays the foundation to my professional career and opens new job opportunities for me.
At the same time, I have already got an extensive experience of work in the mortgage industry. My work in the mortgage industry was an extremely important experience for me because I have learned how to work in the mortgage industry. What was even more important I have developed my professional experience on the basis of the empiric knowledge because I learned through practice, through my regular work. On the other hand, in the course of my work in the mortgage industry, I have understood that my theoretical knowledge are not enough to work successfully in the mortgage industry.

Moreover, it occurred to my mind that I cannot perform successfully and do business without professional education in this field. Obviously, I have an extensive experience but to develop my professional skills, abilities and experience I have made a lot of errors through which I have learned what is good and what is bad for business. In other words, I understood that practice is not enough because you cannot chose the right way to go and I can hardly take the right decision, if you do not have a solid theoretical basis on the ground of which you can construct your business. This is another argument in favor of my educational efforts and my desire to attend the graduate school reasonably derives from my past experience.
However, my decision to attend graduate school is grounded not only on my professional needs but also on my internal inclinations. To put it more precisely, I take an active part in volunteer jobs. For instance, I worked on the Board of Directors for the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Marin to help raise money for Camp Soulajule Annual for Low Income Kids Program. This was a great experience because I participated in a very important program, which aimed at helping children in need. In fact, when I participated in this program I felt as if I help children like me because when I recall my childhood I remember how much I lacked such programs. Now, when I am grown up and when I participate in such programs, I feel proud and satisfied because I can help poor children, who have no one to count for or to receive assistance from. From my personal experience, I know that the summer camp will be the great experience for these children and they will never forget. Moreover, such experience can change their entire life forever.
Remarkably, when I was doing volunteer job, I still felt the lack of such professional skills as organizational skills. This is why, on analyzing my volunteer job, I grow more and more confident that I do need to attend the graduate school. To put it more precisely, I need to develop my professional skills. In fact, I have learned how to work in a team and, frankly speaking, I am a good team member. However, I often have difficulties with taking the right decision, especially when I have to take the decision fast. Furthermore, I need to develop my leadership skills because it is really difficult for me to manage and lead people. Sometimes, I felt helpless, when I could not untie people and make them work together for our common purpose, which I saw clearly but could not encourage others to work to meet this purpose.
Thus, I have decided to attend the graduate school and I believe this will be the great experience for me. At the same time, I do not view attending the graduate school just as a tool to develop my professional skills and abilities. In fact, I expect the graduate school will help to my personal development as well.
